Pinholes represent the most concealed quality defect in ceramic sanitary ware. Although tiny in size, they can lead to severe problems after prolonged use. Our factory has thoroughly analyzed the root causes of pinholes and developed targeted solutions to completely eliminate this issue.
1. Unreasonable body formula Solution: Adjust the body formula to ensure its viscosity meets the requirements of the production process.
2. Excessively high content of organic substances and high-decomposition-temperature sulfates in the body and glaze formulas, which generate a large amount of gas during the reaction and result in pinholes.Solution: Reduce the sulfate content in the formulas to optimize their scientific rationality.
3. Overly fine glaze slurry particles that impede gas release during firing.Solution: Appropriately increase the particle size of the glaze slurry.
4. Rushed slip casting operation, which leaves insufficient time for gas in the slurry to escape, or overheated slurry that causes fermentation.Solution: Stir the slurry slowly before casting to remove trapped air bubbles.
5. Excessively low initial melting temperature of the surface glaze, which leads to excessive glaze application.Solution: Strictly control the initial melting temperature of the surface glaze at 950℃.
6. Unreasonable glaze layer thickness. Solution: Ensure the glaze layer thickness is within the standard range while maintaining the required performance of the glaze slurry.
7. Inappropriate firing temperature that hinders smooth gas emission from the ceramic body.Solution: Optimize the firing curve and extend the gas exhaust stage.
