Glaze serves two purposes: decorative and functional.
High-quality glaze gives sanitary wares a smooth, consistent luster and a sleek, silky touch. Conversely, substandard glaze results in a wavy or uneven surface with dull luster, making the products look worn-out and dated, which severely compromises their aesthetic appeal and modern design.
From a functional perspective, glaze plays an equally vital role. Sanitary ceramics are frequently exposed to scrubbing with cleaning tools and agents, as well as the impact of hot water. As such, the glaze must be non-porous, impermeable, and resistant to thermal shock. In addition, toilet bowls come into daily contact with waste; their glaze should therefore be stain-resistant and chemically durable. While the defects of poor-quality glaze may not be immediately visible, prolonged use will lead to issues such as dirt penetration, uneven glaze texture, and even glaze cracking and peeling.
Therefore, glaze quality is one of the key criteria for selecting sanitary ceramics.
